But first, let me take a selfie.

Visual Assignment Week 1 – # 3 Selfie with Your Pet!

My dog of three years, still always this photogenic. Look directly into the camera I asked. Oh, you mean look at this pillow over there? Yep. It was entertaining enough that he never likes having his photo taken, yet I have over a hundred pictures with his face in it. This dog’s been through a lot medically and just needs to remember how amazing he is. And what’s better for the self-esteem than a selfie? Ha, get it.

There will be more puns, I promise.

Why take a photo of my dog? As mentioned priorly, I take my photos of my dog and simply chose to use this one because he didn’t look directly into it. I enjoy taking pictures of my dog and only get rare moments like these before he loses interest in the whole photography moment and just runs off or tries smelling the camera. I guess that makes that the story behind this photo. The rarest photo that doesn’t turn out blurry nor too close that I have his nose stuffed on the front of the camera. A true masterpiece alongside a true story.

As for how I took it, like most people, with my phone. A camera would take having to connect it to my computer and find it. Instead, I can just send one through email on my phone and, bam, a picture has appeared on my computer without the use of a cable. It is the magic of modern day technology!

Just another normal day taking pictures of my puppy.

  1. How did you take the picture, what did you use? How many did you take before you found the one you liked. Please expand the storyline of the post. As part of your writeup, I want to see evidence of the thinking behind it. Use a few paragraphs to describe why you chose the assignment or the topic, or what the thing you made means to you. What is its context? What is the story it tells? What does it mean to you? to society? to other media? Why did you even make it? Think of this part as the part of a DVD that includes the extras- behind the scenes, out takes, director’s commentary. Tell me how many stars this assignment is used.
